I have the Free Life album and also this song on US EPIC 8-50642, bought new. Great harmony in the EW&F mould that still sounds terrific.
I did a double-take at the above scan though – I thought the 45 had sneaked out in the UK, ’till I took a closer look!
OH SH*T!!! This is of my FAVES! Thanx for the post!
Chicago steppers baby!!! I was 17 & 18 years old, and a top stepper when this came out !!
Free Life; the whole album was the TRUTH! Produced by EWF!
Do you have the album or the single?
I still have this!
I loved these guys, and do to this day (R.I.P., brother Winston). “Free Life was an amazing experience and will be with me always, as the very foundation of my life and career in music. Thanks, Philip and Tommy.
You found a Hit that continues to circle the earth. It sounds better, and better every time I hear It I’d like to sing it again and again. Thanks

I LOVE this song and I finally found it!! After a year of looking for it. You can purchase this single on Itunes. Search on “Wish You Were Here” and it’s the song listed under various artists on the Steppin’ across the USA volume 9 cd. Enjoy!!!

Talk about a two-steppers delight; I burned up a few dance floors with this one. Now, I’ve got to find someone with this album so I can store it in my personal collection. My special thanks to you for perserving this one!
I have looked for this song everywhere thanks for the post.
Thank u, very much luv it !!!!!!
Thank you!! You are indeed defmaster88!!
HOW COOL IS THIS!!! I’ve been playing it all evening. I have the 45 and the album that belonged to an ex-boyfriend–possession is 9/10ths of the law. It costs $10 bucks to have a song transferred from vinyl to a CD at the rare record shop I go to. Guess I have to cough it up so I can put it on my iPod. Thanks for posting!
$30 on vinyl in NYC!! Hold on to it if you have it. Hard to find.
As soon as i get the chance, i’ll post “Spirit Of Love”. I burned this entire album on to cd format…..
